7 Ways Virtual Personal Assistants (VPAs) Can Keep You Fit

Virtual Personal Assistants (VPAs) can do a lot to help us out in life. Without them, there are many things that would be far more difficult than they are now. However, did you know that you can use a VPA to help keep you fit? Here are a few ways they can help you out with your fitness goals and a few others for work life balance.

1. Reminders

A VPA can help you stay fit by simply reminding you to actually get that workout in. If you set a reminder for yourself every day, and you hear someone else tell you to go to the gym, go for that run, or just get up, it can make you actually want to do it. It doesn’t hurt that with some VPAs you can adjust what it says and the tone of voice, so you can make it tell you to get up and work out in colorful terms. It is really easy to ignore that text reminder or cross it off your list, but when you hear it, it is a lot harder to ignore.

2. Counting and Timing

Only have a little bit of time to do your workout? Sometimes you can’t even leave your office to do one. A VPA can help you to keep timing and count for you so that you can focus only on getting your form correct. Whether your VPA is counting the seconds that you are holding your plank position, helping you move in and out of yoga poses, or just to tell you how much time you have left.

3. Stream Songs

One of the best workouts that you can do is to just let your hair down and dance around a little bit. Certain VPAs will stream music for you so that you can do just that – or whatever other workout you want to do. Since you are focusing on your workout, you’ll be able to tell your VPA to switch songs, turn down the volume, or turn it up so that you can get back to work. Many of us have gotten sidetracked with switching songs and it can distract us from our workout sessions.

4. Cooking

Abs are made in the kitchen, and VPAs can help you there as well. You’ll be able to cook healthier meals using real ingredients when your VPA reads them for you, converts measurements, and adjust based on your diet. With some, you’re even able to search through recipes to find something that is tasty.

5. Workouts

Certain VPAs have workouts built into them so that you will be able to jump up, start a workout, and finish it without even having to think about it. You’ll get quite a bit of a workout in without having to take a lot of time out of your day. Even better, you’ll have a more varied workout because your VPA won’t know what workouts you don’t want to do and which ones you do want to do, so you’ll get a good mixture of both.

6. Ask Questions

Want to know how many calories you burned or how long you need to jump rope for? You can easily ask your VPA questions in the middle of your workout without getting distracted or quitting what you are actually doing. Of course, it can help to keep you motivated and focused on finishing your workout.

7. Shopping List

When you’re shopping and don’t know what you want, you tend to get things that are unhealthy for you – if you don’t know what you want, it is really easy to wander into the cookie aisle. Many VPAs have a list feature that will allow you to call out different foods and put them all in a list for you. Then, the list will go to your phone so that you can use it while in the grocery store.

In the end, VPAs do many things that keep you fit. They will keep you encouraged and motivated to actually complete your workouts, that will remind you when to work out and when to stop, and help you stay fit in other ways as well. With a VPA, you will be distracted less, find fewer reasons to quit, and even lose a few pounds.
